It's now 6 weeks later, and I cannot give away herb cuttings fast enough. This thing has exceeded my expectations. We are now at the stage of refilling the water completely every couple of days. Flavor is phenomenal!
Took the plunge and invested in the Aerogarden yesterday. The big box it came in had me questioning whether I wanted that much real estate taken up on my counter. So several positive surprises from this purchase. First being how compact and slim in design this thing is. Like the size of a toaster but super skinny, like we hope bread will make us every time we eat it.
Second, you know those "For Dummies" books, you don't even need one for the set up of this thing. Plug in.....fill with water to the line indicator, couple of capfuls of liquid plant food.......place each pod in the round hole......place plastic bowl thingy over each one.......set the clock, timer and type of plant. Done.
What am I growing? Dill, basil, mint, thyme, parsley, and cherry tomatoes. Anywhere from 6 days and up to 21 days to sprout. Hopefully we don't have any duds. We shall see how this goes, cause the salsa garden with chili peppers is next on my list.
